Barbell clamps or collars are an incredibly important piece of equipment that helps ensure your safety. They are used to help hold the weights on each side of the barbell. So that way, if your form is not perfectly even on both sides, you won’t drop all the weights off and cause the bar to be dangerously uneven.
With typical spring barbell collars, you have to press on either side of the collar till the middle portion where the barbell will go expands, thus allowing you to remove or put on the collar; however, this process can be very frustrating at times. They often are so tight that they require almost two hands just to take it off the bar. On the other hand, if its too loose, it might possibly move, causing the weights to shift.
At Victor fitness, we realized this was an issue, so when we developed our barbell collars, we ensured that they would not use this same spring design. Instead, our Lift Locks use a unique locking mechanism that will simply clamp it in place. All you have to do is pull the tab back to open the collars, put them around the barbell, then just snap the tab back down till it locks in place. This makes swapping out plates incredibly easy in between sets.
